I met Cynthia in Cincinnati; however, we didn’t have time to interview until last week via Skype. Isn’t technology amazing? Here’s a photo of our interview time:
I love this book. Cynthia and I share the same passion for women and girls who don’t know who they are in Christ. Cynthia says, ” I think helping our girls understand the core of their identity is the crucial key to unlocking the door to their influence. It has to start with us; we have to lead the way. Too often we do the negative self-talk over our appearance, our abilities, and our life situations, and they are listening to every word that comes out of our mouths! We talk ourselves out of God’s design for us to flourish in life no matter our circumstances. We as adult women, mothers, aunts, grandmothers, and godmothers have to speak the truth of who these girls are and be confident in our own identity rooted in Christ. We have to help them realize that their identity isn’t shaped by our culture or the media, but by the God who designed them, ‘fearfully and wonderfully’ (Psalm 139).”
