Learn to Love Yourself

Are you an extrovert? You like to be the life of the party, right? Or would you prefer to be behind the scenes? (Introverts are the ones who usually plan the party. LOL ) It is so helpful when we understand people are different – in their personalities and spiritual gifts.

Romans 12:18 says, “It is possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with everyone.”

Whether you are parenting, grand parenting or serving in your church, here’s a great article from Dr. James Dobson about understanding and appreciating differences in our personalities. And even more than that, the unique ways God has created us to serve Him. It’s valuable to discover more about who we are and also understand how others are wired. This helps to improve all of our relationships, including our relationship with God.

“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though his is not far from each one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’” Acts 17:24-28

If you know who you are In Christ – what others think or what you think about yourself doesn’t matter any more. We must know the truth of what God thinks about us and affirm the truth to ourselves in love. Check out one of my recent blogs about Identity In Christ Is Everything.
