God of Heaven

“Give thanks to the God of heaven, for his love endures forever.” —Psalm 136:26

Who is the God of heaven? He is the Lord. Matthew 28:18 says, “All authority is given to me in heaven and on earth. “

It is essential to know who the God of heaven is, since everything else on earth depends on it. There is only one God, although as we have studied that God, He is known by many different names. Each of his names display aspects of His character and offer contact points to us through his personality.

Before rebuilding the wall at Jerusalem, Nehemiah petitioned God about his request in Nehemiah 1:5, which says, “Then I said, Lord, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments.”

Another worshipping pray-er, young Daniel, in Daniel 2:19b–20, said, “praised the God of heaven and said: ‘Praise be to the name of God for ever and every; wisdom and power are His.’” The God of Heaven is also the God who rules over us. He is the One who has everything under control, even the circumstances we don’t understand or don’t like.

Praying and praising the God of Heaven gives us hope. Here’s lyrics from Robbie Seay Band’s “Song of Hope”:

All things bright and beautiful you are. All things wise and wonderful you are. In my darkest night you brighten up the skies. A song will rise.

I will sing a song of hope, sing along. God of heaven come down, heaven come down. Just to know that you are near is enough. God of heaven come down, heaven come down.

Let’s pray,

Dear Lord of Heaven, it’s amazing that you would care about my problems. Thank you for restoring my hope and renewing my trust in you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
