Ever wondered if God can handle your problems? A proper perspective of God’s magnificence helps us trust He is much better at managing things in our lives. But wait, there’s more! God wants all men and women, boys and girls, from every tongue, tribe, and nation to know His love. 1 Kings 8:10 says, “O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven above or on earth below—you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue whole heartedly in your way.” Appearing 195 times in the Old Testament, this name of God shows the Lord’s sovereign rule over the nation and people of Israel.

According to Google, “God of Israel may refer to God in Judaisim, God as understood in present-day Jewish theological discussion.” And yes, the people of Israel are God’s chosen people. But God loves and has a plan for all people. God loves people. He wants everyone to have the opportunity to know Jesus Christ as their personal savior.

In Isaiah 6:1–3, the prophet Isaiah had a vision of the Lord of hosts on His throne. “In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple. Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called out to another and said, ‘Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory.’” —Isaiah 6:1–3

In Isaiah 37:16, the prophet wrote, “O Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, who is enthroned above the cherubim, You are the God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.” Now that’s proper perspective. Did you know approximately 16,300 ethnic people groups are considered unreached? Less than 2% are Christ-followers; that’s over 41% of the world’s population (www.TheJoshuaProject.com). The body of Christ is the vehicle God is using to share His love with the nations. This fulfills His purpose in availing His plans, power and presence with all who will receive Him.

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” —2 Peter 3:9–10

Isaiah 52:7 says, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation who say to Zion Your God reigns.”

Yes, the God of Israel is able to handle our problems. Yes, the God of Israel wants to use us as part of His plan to invite all men and women into his family of love. Isaiah receives his call as a prophet from the Lord of hosts. Isaiah responded, “Here am I.  Send me!” (Isaiah 6:8). Will you answer God’s call in the same way? Let’s pray:

Heavenly Father, God of Israel, thank you! There is no God like you in heaven above or on earth below. You are our creator, our promise-keeper, worthy of our worship and praise. You are not willing for any man or woman, boy or girl, no matter their tongue, tribe, or nation, to die without the opportunity to join your family of love. Today, God of Israel, we commit to use the time, talents, or treasure you have entrusted to us for your glory. Show us how to share the truth that all men and women, boys and girls may hear, see, and understand your great and mighty love. In Jesus’ name, amen.
