Dear Family and Friends,

I wish you all could share in our special wedding day. Do you know—you can! Yes, please join us in praying for God to strengthen us and our families as we start our new beginning as a married couple. You can also join us in praying The Apostle’s Creed. We decided to ask our wedding guests to speak this out in unison as a declaration of what we believe. Here’s an excerpt from what will be shared in our service:

“The Apostles’ Creed is one of the doctrinal recitations commonly used in many services. The word ‘creed’ comes from the Latin word credo, meaning ‘I believe.’ It was called ‘Apostles’ not because the apostles wrote it but because the Creed is an accurate summary of what the apostles taught. The Creed was useful in several ways: The Creed is a public statement of faith, a way in which people could confess and affirm their faith in Jesus Christ.”

Abda-Apostles-Creed[1]

The Apostles’ Creed:

“I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth;
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.”

Thank you for your prayers. Please continue to give God the glory for He does all things well.

Sheryl
