Are you tired of plodding through life? Like a plane on ‘automatic pilot,’ our prayers can be repetitive, predictable and even humdrum as we go through the motions. Do you ever wonder if God really hears your prayers? The remedy could be as simple as admitting un-confessed sin. Think about how it felt when you first found out how much God loved you! It’s good to be reminded of His presence protecting us even when we were not seeking Him. 3 John 1:9 says, "We love because he first loved us."
Finding Rest in God’s Love
One of the best things about the Lead Like Jesus Encounter is the unique experience it brings for growth in leaders. It works because leaders take time out for positive self-care as they uncover brand new ways to further practice God's presence. Through solid Bible teaching, group interaction and vulnerable activities, participants are encouraged to become engaged and to explore fresh ways to grasp a deeper understanding of the passion of God.

Failing Forward
It’s time to settle an important life question. As a leader, how do you deal with failure?
Failure is the inability to complete a task. Instead of feeling incompetent or giving into failure and giving up, leaders must learn to reset our expectations. We might even need to alter our schedule and regroup our team.
We all fail. But it’s how we handle failure that will set us apart from other leaders. We must learn to deal with failure. Do you give into self-pity? Do you blame other people? Leaders must learn how to productively fail and lean into it with a forward motion. As we learn from our failures, the momentum can actually work as a catalyst to move us into the next season of growth and productivity with a committed and thriving team.
Unqualified and Under-gifted
If you are presented with new opportunities, do you feel inadequate or weak? Are you afraid of failure? Do you feel unqualified? Under-gifted? Out of your comfort zone? I can relate. Several years ago, I found out about a bunch of high school kids that were close to getting kicked out of school for good. The academic dean asked me for help. I didn’t feel I had the ability to put together such a thing; I thought I was far from qualified. “God, not me" I argued, "I have a new job, I am busy, I am a cancer survivor, I have limited energy and time.” I didn’t know how to create a truant program at a local public high school.
I remembered what God brought me out of, once a rebellious and promiscuous teenager, chain-smoker, alcoholic, drug addict and drug dealer who cut class all but 5 days my junior year of high school. God reminded me – I knew what these kids were going through.
Experiencing God Through His Names
What's in a name? A lot, actually. Names are more than groups of letters that represent a person or identify objects. Names are powerful. A person's character or destiny can be influenced by his or her name. So when it comes to God, His attributes and personality support His unique and distinct names. When we comprehend the meanings of His titles, we can know God more intimately by understanding His names.

My Boaz Has Come
All of us want a story that begins, “once upon a time” and ends “and they lived happily ever after.” The day the tragic motorcycle accident tore my husband Paul's physical presence from my arms, my world collapsed. My fairytale became a nightmare; my life as I knew it ended. With Paul's “promotion to heaven,” our marriage of twenty-eight years was over. I became a widow.
Free to Soar
When we fall, we must choose whether or not to say, “Help, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up.” It’s not a sign of weakness to ask for help. Did you know there are ways to increase your chances of survival in a fall, even if it is accidental (like from scaffolding around a building project) or recreational (as in the case of an adventurous skydive)? In the same way, you and I can learn to thrive after we slip and fall in the trials and challenges life brings. These lessons, when applied, can prepare us for the times when life knocks us flat on our faces. We know that it’s not a matter of if but when we fall.
Belief Brings Relief
We don’t have to be victimized by our past, held captive to our thoughts or imprisoned by how others perceive us. Trusting God moves us ahead unhindered; our progress becomes secure as we apply God’s Word to our circumstances and allow Him to move us from deception to truth.
